Brave. New. World: IAP2 Conference 

The Factotum team is gearing up for the 2022 IAP2 Australasia Conference in Melbourne this October. This year’s conference theme is Brave. New. World and in keeping with this theme, Factotum is a conference sponsor for the first time, with an exhibition booth to prove it. It’s also the first IAP2 conference the team has attended together in person, after attending virtually in 2021. As we get ready to dive into this new world, here’s what we’re looking forward to the most: 

Learning new ways of doing things 

One of the biggest reasons we go to conferences is to learn new things, or new ways of doing things. The IAP2 Conference is fantastic for this, and the 2022 program is packed with interesting content. Early favourites include sessions on engaging on complex infrastructure projects, genuine engagement in the digital environment, and what decision makers really want from engagement. 

Connecting with our industry 

After COVID disruptions and a busy few years in the communication and engagement space, the chance to meet old friends and new at the industry’s biggest conference has us buzzing with anticipation. Opportunities to connect with people are built into the program via workshops, exhibition viewing, a Welcome Reception, and the Gala Dinner. Speaking of… 

The Gala Dinner! 

The Gala Dinner is a great excuse to get dressed up, head to a swish venue, and enjoy great food and conversation. It’s also a chance to celebrate the winners of the 2022 IAP2 Core Values Awards and hear about the innovative projects that took home gold this year.
